Our mission

It is our mission to create an easy-to-use, informative website that provides solutions for families. We hope that Cerebral Palsy Guide can help parents of children with cerebral palsy access the resources and support they deserve.

We can connect you to:

  • Medical information
  • Support options
  • Legal aid and financial assistance

Our team has also registered nurses on staff who can help you determine what may have caused your child’s condition and what treatments they may need.

Helping families affected by cerebral palsy

Everyone needs a little help from time to time, and this is especially true for parents of children with a disability. We’re here to offer families information about cerebral palsy, available treatment methods, and financial assistance.

We are equipped to help families get in contact with local organizations that can provide emotional support, as well as a community of others who understand what they are going through.

Aside from the information we provide about CP and treatment, we also offer assistance in finding financial help to cover the extra costs that come with raising a child with CP. Our support team can help you find doctors and therapists in your area who are ready to help your child live a life full of happiness.

Our support team

Our on-staff registered nurses are standing by to help you determine if malpractice may have played a role in your child’s injuries and what steps you should take next to get them the treatment they need.

Andi Lowe, RN, DPN, MSN

Andi Lowe is an experienced nurse leader who has been practicing in the area of obstetrical nursing for more than 18 years. Her clinical and educational experience includes labor and delivery, antepartum, mother and baby, neonatal intensive care, and pediatrics. She’s also a certified fetal monitoring instructor.

Coming from a family of nurses — her mother, aunt, and sister — Andi always knew that she wanted to devote her life to caring for others. Their passion, along with her desire to set a strong example for her child, became the foundation of Andi’s nursing career.

Andi received her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Chamberlain University and is currently working toward a second Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She uses her medical expertise to educate and support families impacted by birth injuries.

Beth Carter, RN

Beth Carter has over 20 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with nearly half of this time spent working in labor and delivery units. This, combined with giving birth to her own premature baby, makes Beth passionate about helping new mothers access the information and resources they deserve.

Beth feels that her experience as a former NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) mom gives her a close connection with moms trying to navigate the hardships that may come with an early delivery or other traumatic birth events. As someone who is Legal Nurse Consultant Certified (LNCC®), she can also help determine if legal action may be warranted.

Kristin Proctor, RN

Kristin Proctor began her nursing career as a U.S. Army Nurse and has been a Registered Nurse (RN) for more than 20 years. She has specialized experience in labor and delivery, as well as prenatal, antepartum, and postpartum care. Kristin uses this experience to educate and support families affected by birth injuries.

Due to her experience working as a staff nurse and in leadership roles, Kristin is familiar with standards of care and expectations of medical staff throughout the birthing process. She uses this insight to educate and support families affected by cerebral palsy and other birth injuries.

Simple, straightforward information

Cerebral Palsy Guide was written with parents and caregivers in mind. We hope to answer any of the questions parents might have about their child’s condition in a way that is easy to comprehend.

While a cerebral palsy diagnosis can feel overwhelming, we aim to make this journey a little easier on everyone by creating a one-stop shop for information pertaining to CP, treatment, and available support options.

The information you find on our website has been thoroughly researched through literature, medical journals, and peer-reviewed articles by our content development team. We hope that by reading through our website, parents and caregivers can better understand what cerebral palsy is and what factors to consider when raising a child with CP.
